As Lions Gate Films plans the release of James Wan’s Saw (review) on September 17th, the creators of this astounding film are already working on their next film with Universal. I wouldn’t expect anything less than the best from these two- Inside is the story…
Arkanis writes in, “Mr. Disgusting dubbed the gritty psychological thriller Saw as “the best horror movie of 2004” – so you know it has to be good!
Even while the writing team of James Wan and Leigh Whannell are still awaiting Saw’s theatrical release – the two Aussies aren’t resting on their laurels. It was revealed recently in the April issue of the Australian Empire Magazine that the boys have already started writing their second film:
“It’s called Shhh” says Whannell. “It’s a supernatural horror film for Universal. All I can say is that it’s about ventriloquism.”
“No, not another one of those damn supernatural horror movies about ventriloquism” yell the horror fans… wait, that actually sounds like a remotely original idea!”
It is great to see new writers taking-on the horror genre, and trying to infuse it with some unique and fresh ideas.”
