New Apocalypse for ‘Right at Your Door’ Director, Will See Aliens in His ‘Darkest Hour’

An interesting mix of talent are teaming together for a post-apocalyptic alien invasion. New Regency is partnering with Summit Entertainment on The Darkest Hour, a 28 Days-like thriller about a group of kids struggling to survive in Russia after an alien invasion, reports Deadline. Day Watch and Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov is announced to be producing just a day after revealing he will also team with Tim Burton on Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (more here). Shooting in Russia at Bekmambetov’s own personal facilities, Chris Gorak, who made his directing debut on the intense Right At Your Door, about the aftermath of a terrorist attack in L.A. that unleashes a deadly toxic cloud, will be directing. Between Gorak’s vision and Bekmambetov’s “toys”, this should be a massive spectacle. Adding this to my must-see list now.
