While a completely different type of film, Michael Winterbottom’s The Killer Inside Me received about as much attention at the Sundance Film Festival as Lars von Trier’s Antichrist. Apparently, there are some incredibly brutal scenes that involve violence against women. With the hype, and an incredible cast – Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba, Elias Koteas, Kate Hudson, Bill Pullman, Ned Beatty and even Simon Baker – IFC Films snatched up the rights to the sucker with plans on releasing it this summer. Until then, check out a pretty boring clip. I’m sure the goods are forthcoming. Published in 1952, “The Killer Inside Me” concerns a deputy sheriff in a West Texas town whose kind Everyman demeanor masks his true dark self. He is slowly revealed as a psychotic killer.
