More Chances to See Those Hard to Find Movies!

But of course there is always a stipulation- you must live in the LA area, which I will be in a week! MUAHAHAH! Enough gloating, inside you’ll find a list of movies being shown at this years American Cinematheque Festival of Fantasy, Horror & Science-Fiction, which begins in August.

The American Cinematheque has announced a list of films to be shown at its 5th Annual Festival of Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction, running August 5-29 at Los Angeles’ Egyptian Theatre. The heavy-duty lineup includes Tobe Hooper’s TOOLBOX MURDERS (review) (with Hooper, scripters Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson and star Angela Bettis in attendance), Dario Argento’s THE CARD PLAYER, Eric Valette’s acclaimed French thriller MALEFIQUE (accompanied by the director), the Spierig Brothers’ UNDEAD (review #1, review #2), Vincenzo (CUBE) Natali’s new fantasy NOTHING (with Natali and actor/scripter Andrew Miller), the outrageous and bloody new anime DEAD LEAVES, the Peter Jackson double feature BAD TASTE and MEET THE FEEBLES, a pairing of George Romero’s original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (review)with Gary Sherman’s DEATH LINE, the LA premiere of Nigel Kneale’s previous lost BBC ghost thriller THE STONE TAPE, a 20th-anniversary screening of Alex Cox’s REPO MAN (with several of the cast), a tribute to Caroline Munro with appearances by the actress and showings of CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER, THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD, AT THE EARTH’S CORE (whose producer Max Rosenberg will also be on hand), THE SPY WHO LOVED ME and STARCRASH.
