Timur Bekmambetov Opens the ‘Casebook Of Victor Frankenstein’
Russian director Timur Bekmambetov all of a sudden is one of the busiest men in Hollywood as the man behind Wanted, Day Watch, Night Watch is now attached to direct David Auburn’s pitch based on the Peter Ackroyd novel Casebook Of Victor Frankenstein. Story details can be found by reading inside. I’m not a huge fan of any of his films, but I do see a certain potential that could turn him into one of our genres most beloved directors. He is also producing an adaptation of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with Tim Burton (March 2), and getting behind the camera for The Last Witch Hunter for Summit Entertainment (March 15).

Monkey Man is currently 88% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with Bloody Disgusting’s head critic Meagan Navarro awarding the film 4.5/5 stars in her review out of SXSW back in March.
Meagan raves, “While the violence onscreen is palpable and painful, it’s not just the exquisite fight choreography and thrilling action set pieces that set Monkey Man apart but also its political consciousness, unique narrative structure, and myth-making scale.”
