Has Russian director Timur Bekmambetov bitten off more than he can chew? The short answer is yes, but who cares? The FX madman is attached to so many badass projects it’s going to be hard to throw a foul ball. The director of Wanted, Night Watch and Day Watch is currently lined up to potentially get behind the camera for Moby Dick, Wanted 2 and The Witch Hunter, while he’s also producing The Darkest Hour and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter alongside Tim Burton. To add more to that pile, the LA Times is reporting that he’s seriously considering Red Asphalt, a screenplay acquired by Lionsgate penned by Andrew Baldwin, who, a quick scan of the 2008 Black List shows, wrote a Depression-era drama titled The West Is Dead. Unfortunately, no details are available (welcome to the norm), although it’s said to be another 3-D project. Whoopie!
