The ‘Highwaymen’ Are Coming

New Line Home Video’s Highwaymen which I saw a ton of trailers for in the cinema is now apparently going to go ahead and come straight to video. It only got played in select locations, and apparently the reaction there wasn’t good. So instead of going to the cinema you can just head on over to the video store and pick up. Read on for all the DVD details, as well as the release date.
Fangoria reports,

New Line Home Video has announced that HIGHWAYMEN, which played selected theatrical dates in the Southwest earlier this year, will bypass any further big-screen exposure and arrive on video August 24. Robert (THE HITCHER) Harmon directed this asphalt-bound chiller in which Rennie Cray (THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST’s Jim Caviezel) seeks revenge for his wife’s murder by James Fargo (Colm Feore, currently on screen in THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK), who has bio-mechanically integrated himself into his ’72 Cadillac to create the ultimate death machine. Rhona (THE PRACTICE) Mitra and Frankie Faison of the Hannibal Lecter films co-star; sadly, the DVD, which will present the movie in 2.35:1 widescreen with DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, will be bereft of extras save the trailer. You can find out more about the movie at and in a Harmon interview in Fango #233.
