‘The Crow’ Redo Flying Back to Detroit?

Mania continues to get update after update from director Stephen Norrington about his forthcoming redo of James O’Barr’s The Crow, which we can confirm is really close to setting up shop for a shoot this summer. “Part of the new story is set in Detroit and we’ve been discussing the logistics of shooting on location,” Norrington told the site. The comic was created by Michigan native James O’Barr who set the original comics series in the Motor City. That setting remained in Alex Proyas’ film version, which very effectively used the city’s run-down reputation and the citizens’ notorious annual tradition of burning derelict houses down on Devil’s Night as a backdrop for the film. Nothing is a lock right now as there are still many factors that can change over the next few months.
