‘Grindhouse’ Double Feature Blu-ray/DVD Set Finally Happening?!

Published

on

Grindhouse fans rejoice! Apparently, it looks as if we might finally get the re-release full version of the film featuring Robert Rodriguez’s “Planet Terror” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof”, along with the faux trailers from Rodriguez (“Machete”), Eli Roth (“Thanksgiving”), Rob Zombie (“Werewolf Women of the S.S.”) and Edgar Wright (“Don’t”). In fact, it sounds as if everyone is returning to record commentary tracks for their segments! “So, get this, tomorrow I am doing a commentary on ‘Don’t’. Some of you will know what that means is finally happening,” exclaims Edgar Wright on his Twitter page. You can watch his hilarious trailer by reading inside.
Grindhouse – noun – A downtown movie theater – in disrepair since its glory days as a movie palace of the ’30s and ’40s – known for “grinding out” non-stop double-bill programs of B-movies. From groundbreaking directors Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez comes the ultimate film experience: a double-bill of thrillers that will recall both filmmakers’ favorite exploitation films. “Grindhouse” will be presented as one full-length feature comprised of two individual films helmed separately by each director. Tarantino’s film, “Death Proof,” is a rip-roaring slasher flick where the killer pursues his victims with a car rather than a knife, while Rodriguez’s film explores an alien world eerily familiar to ours in “Planet Terror.” Welcome to the Grindhouse – it’ll tear you in two.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
