B-Indie Stars Crack Knuckles for ‘Dog Fight’

Like Fight Club?

We’ve got the first details on Dog Fight, an ensemble cast driven horror film which also combines elements of action, crime drama, and torture films into a single package in a storyline “revolving around an underground fighting ring whose competitors are made up of women who have been kidnapped and “broken” – essentially being turned into rabid dogs psychologically.

Written by Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska, the twin team behind the buzzed about film Dead Hooker in a Trunk, which Eli Roth has notoriously endorsed as saying, and I quote, “They aim to fuck you up”, it is being directed by Sean-Michael Argo, whose feature “Fable: Teeth of Beasts” recently screened at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is being produced by Tara Cardinal, who recently wrapped the action/fantasy epic “Legend of the Red Reaper” and Devanny Pinn, who aside from appearances in Piranha 3-D and the upcoming sci-fi thriller “15 Till Midnight”, recently wrapped the buzzed about revenge film “Song of the Shattered”.

Tara and Devanny will also star in the film, whose cast will be rounded out by such “B” horror figures as Brandon Slagle (15 Till Midnight, Duplicity, Kinky Killers), Elske McCain (Jessika Rabid, Gimme Skelter), Shannon Lark (Walking Distance), Rachel Grubb (Terror Overload, The Horror Vault Vol. 1), Deneen Melody (Slices of Life, Song of the Shattered), Tara Alexis (Fable: Teeth of Beasts, Red Scream Nosferatu). Also starring are Bill Oberst Jr. (Nude Nuns With Big Guns, Ripped Memories), Jose Rosete (The Rogue, Three Kings), Elisabeth Fies, Julia Boyd, Keith Kraft, Tawny Amber Young, Barry Ratcliffe, and many more TBA.

Filming will begin in the Los Angeles area during September and continue throughout the month for a Spring 2011 premiere.
