This past Friday it was announced that Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning were the first to be cast in the J.J. Abrams/Steven Spielberg collaboration Super 8, an alien horror flick Abrams will direct in the vein of early ’80s Amblin films. Filming is apparently underway in Weirton, West Virginia where dozens of behind-the-scenes images have already begun to appear online. The pic will follow a bunch of kids who are shooting a movie with a Super 8 camera in the seventies or eighties. When they develop the film, they notice that there’s an alien creature in the frame. Paramount is to release in the summer of 2011.
