Resident Evil 6 Logo Leaked, Coming This November

Published

on

While the official unveiling has yet to happen, a GameStop promotional display was leaked out for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 6. There are a few things we can take from this poster: 1, the logo is very creepy, 2, the game is coming out for the PS3 and Xbox 360, and 3, it’s coming on November 20 That’s way sooner than I would’ve ever expected, and I think it’s safe to say it officially makes 2012 the best year for horror fans ever. I mean, come on, three Silent Hill games and now three Resident Evils? Someone pinch me.

There are also a few sites reporting on unconfirmed rumors that Resident Evil 6 will follow Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy (kick monster ass with your bro!). According to the rumors, Ada Wong will also return, though the extent of her role is currently unknown. More after the break! Resident Evil 6 is supposed to be another reboot of the series, and one that will focus more heavily on horror, as opposed to action. It sounds like it’ll be somewhere between Resident Evil 4 and 5, in terms of atmosphere and gameplay. One thing I know for sure is this logo is definitely creepy, as is Capcom’s mysterious Viral marketing campaign that will be revealing something very soon.

Story-wise, according to IGN and their “sources within the development team”, both Chris and Leon will be playable characters, each starring in their own campaign. They’ll both team up with unnamed partners and supposedly, their stories will cross paths at some point. Ada could also have her own campaign that sounds a lot like the Separate Ways story in Resident Evil 4, in that you unlock it after beating the main story. A third campaign is also rumored to be there, with all three campaigns (Chris, Leon, and the unnamed third character) being available from the start. Resident Evil 6 is also rumored to take place all around the world, with China being one of the main locations.

Check out the promotional displays below, and stay tuned for a more official reveal when it happens (possibly in the next hour).

Also, is it just me or does the logo look like the Skyrim logo, if it was eaten by a spider and shat out all covered in webs and stuff? Hmm? Anyone else see that? Anyone?

While you wait for Alien: Romulus, the folks over at Devilworks have cooked up their own slice of “mockbuster” fun with Alien Hunt, and we’re debuting the trailer here on BD this morning.

This brand-new sci-fi horror from director Aaron Mirtes (The Bigfoot Trap, Painted in Blood) is set for its US premiere on May 14, and you can find it on digital thanks to Devilworks.

You can exclusively watch the official trailer for Alien Hunt below, which looks to combine elements of Alien and Predator. This particular “mockbuster” has very little interest in hiding its inspirations, with the alien designs plucked straight out of H.R. Giger’s beautiful brain. Hey, if you’re going to pull from other movies, might as well take from the all-time greats!

In Alien Hunt, “On a hunting trip in the wilderness, a group of siblings discovers an abandoned military outpost on their land, but is it what it seems?

“Their trip takes a sinister turn when they find themselves facing off against a relentless army of extra-terrestrial beings. Suddenly, the hunters become the hunted.

“The formidable squad of alien soldiers will stop at nothing to wipe out the enemy and in an all-out, brutal battle for survival, it’s kill or be killed in Alien Hunt.”

Barron Boedecker (Escape Pod, The Bigfoot Trap), Brent Bentley (The Perfect In-Laws, Haunt Season), Deiondre Teagle (The Visitor, Painted in Blood, Death Ranch), Chelsey Fuller (The Bigfoot Trap, The Silent Natural), Jesse Santoyo (A Nashville Country Christmas, Potter’s Ground), and Adam Pietripaoli (The Bigfoot Trap, The OctoGames) star.
