Nightwish have announced January 10th, 2012 as the release date for their upcoming album Imaginaerum. It’s their first new release since 2007′s Dark Passion Play, their first album with new singer Anette Olzon. This new album is going to also be the soundtrack to a feature film with the same name.
Keyboardist/songwriter Tuomas Holopainen states, “It was important from the very beginning that the album would work as its own individual piece of art, as well. It is a thematic album about life itself, about imagination, love, goodness and beauty, with a touch of darkness and melancholy, which are strongly included in all of those things mentioned.”

One of my favorite releases this year is White Willow‘s Terminal Twilight. It’s a gorgeous album with lush sounds and beautiful passages. It’s a great album for those dark gray rainy days. Well, if you want to hear the album before trusting my word, AOL Music is streaming the entire album. I cannot recommend enough that you give this album a shot.
Rock group New Medicine have released a video for Resolve To Fight, which comes off their album Race You To The Bottom. The video is kinda fun, showing workplace zombies who apparently have change for blood. The band will be touring with Adelita’s Way, Art of Dying, and Emphatic. You can check out tour dates on New Medicine’s Facebook.
