Remember that article about how Korn was going to do the main theme for Silent Hill: Downpour? Well, the song has come out as the background music for the latest trailer for the game (which also looks like it has been delayed from this month to March 31st, 2012).
To say that the song is awful doesn’t even begin to cut it. The moment it started my head fell into my hands and I let out a pained moan. “Okay, relax. Just give it a little bit more and see what happens.” I thought. I tried to give it a fair shot. Nope, not even worth my time having such a hopeful, positive outlook. In what might be the worst thing I can say about this song, I really think it has made me less interested in playing the game as a whole.
The theme songs to Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 were so beautiful and haunting that I felt drawn towards the games, as though I were being summoned to Silent Hill in the same way the characters were. What happened? What went wrong? I don’t know, but I am not in the slightest bit happy about this.
Check out the trailer after the jump and hear the travesty for yourself. Oh, and head on over to Dead Pixels to read BurnTheBlueSky’s (a.k.a. TJ) take on the trailer.
