Update: I was able to confirm that an April start is planned, although not definite. I’m told the only thing that’s set in stone is that it WILL film this year.
Bloody Disgusting was exclusively tipped off that Relativity Media is finally moving forward on the long-delayed The Strangers: Part 2, the sequel to Bryan Bertino’s widely popular home invasion film that starred Liv Tyler as she attempted to survive an attack by a trio of masked killers.
We’re told that Laurent Briet will be getting behind the camera as early as this April, with a location and cast still to be determined. We’re working on a full confirmation as we speak. There have been a slew of false starts over the past 2 years.
A reflection of the horrible economy, the sequel follows the three mysterious figures (Man in the Mask, Pin-Up Girl, and Dollface) as they now stalk a family of four that is forced to live in an abandoned trailer after being evicted from their home.
