Bill Murray to Howard Stern: “I Guess I’m the Problem”

Published

Howard Stern was lucky enough to receive a call from the elusive BIll Murray, the legendary comedian/actor who marches to the beat of his own drum. Over the past few weeks Murray has had multiple fingers pointed in his direction as the hold up on the long-gestured Ghostbusters 3. The truth?

Stern asked Murray about the rumors: “I guess I’m the problem. Before I was an asset. Now I’m a problem,” he explained. Bill said he had the script somewhere (“I haven’t read it yet.“) and liked his Ghostbusters co-stars (“We really are funny together.“) but hadn’t taken the time to consider the project: “It’s not the foremost thing in my mind right now so I don’t think about it.

I seriously think it’s time to official give up any hope on seeing Murray and Weaver’s love-child take the reigns as a new Ghost Buster. Maybe they can just license Murray’s likeness and insert him as a CG ghost? I’ll take that blow just to see Columbia Pictures get this off the ground. Sigh.

Supposedly, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis, and Sigourney Weaver have agreed to return, with Ivan Reitman taking the reigns. I just want to see Rick Moranis back in action!
