WETA Reveals ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ Ape!
I’m not much of a fan of Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes redo, but I’m hoping that Rupert Wyatt’s newly titled Rise of the Planet of the Apes prequel finds a way to deliver. In theaters August 5, 2011, Bloody Disgusting has learned that Twentieth Century Fox has sent the team back out into production with some additional photography to get underway later this month.
In addition, inside you’ll find the official logo, along with a video teaser of the apes, courtesy of WETA.
“Set in present-day San Francisco, ‘Apes’ reveals the origins of a war that ultimately led to a global apocalypse – and to Earth becoming the Planet of the Apes.”
James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, Tom Felton all star.
The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of Avatar and Lord of the Rings is taking on its most ambitious challenge, creating for the first time a non-human CGI character that delivers a dramatic performance with real emotion and intelligence.
