Lionsgate’s cast of The Hunger Games has been multiplying like rabbits these past few weeks, and so far includes Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Josh Hutcherson, possibly Elizabeth Banks, and a few others.
Today the studio announced the addition of Paula Malcomson (Deadwood, Caprica) as Katriss and Prim Everdeen’s mother.
Taking place in post-apocalyptic America, The Hunger Games introduces 16-year-old heroine Katniss Everdeen, who must participate in a fight-to-the-death annual event called the Hunger Games. The battles are televised, and pit youths from each of the Capitol’s 12 Districts against each other.
