Walls Come Alive in ‘Voice From the Stone’

Donnie Darko/The Dark Knight star Maggie Gyllenhaal has signed up to topline Eric Howell‘s supernatural thriller Voice From the Stone, which K5 International is selling in Cannes, reports Variety.

The story sees Gyllenhaal play the role of a nurse drawn to the aid of a young boy who is haunted by malevolent forces within the walls of an old house in the Italian countryside. As she develops a relationship with the father of the boy, she also becomes haunted by the same evil presence and must fight to save herself and the boy.

The pic is based on the Italian novel “Le Voce Della Pietra” by Silvio Raffo.

The Ring helmer Hideo Nakata was attached to direct back in 2009.
