Acquired last month by IFC Films is Justin Kurzel’s indie Snowtown, a true-crime story about a teenager who finds his world threatened by both his loyalty for, and fear of, his newfound friend, John Bunting, Australia’s most notorious serial killer. Based on a true story, Bloody Disgusting’s Maria Lewis chimes in with her thoughts, explaining that the thriller resonates with the viewer days after.
“ ‘Snowtown’ is one of those drama-centered horror films that will plague your sleep, follow you down a dark alleyway and jump out of your wardrobe. Its full impact can only be realized days later when you discover you’re still thinking about it, about the characters, about the murders, about the victims left behind.”
