If you’re not buying comics or meetings artists and writers I’m begging to know what the point is of going to the San Diego Comic-Con. Everything on display is now online, and studios have even dropped the panel sizzle reels just hours after premiering at the Con. What a jip.
Fox has unloaded their sizzle reel for Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Rupert Wyatt’s prequel arriving in theaters August 5. I guess the point of dumping it online is because the film arrives in theaters in just a few weeks — but still, why can’t exclusive Comic-Con footage stay special?
Described as an origin story, “Apes” is “set in present day San Francisco and deals with the aftermath of man’s experiments with genetic engineering that lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.” James Franco will play a driven scientist who becomes a crucial figure in the war between humans and apes.
