Yesterday we brought you some new images from Universal’s upcoming The Thing. Along with the clip that hit today it’s either a good time or bad time for you to be a fan of John Carpenter’s original 1982 classic. Depends on your proclivity for reboots/prequels and the prospect of diminishing returns.
These pics don’t seem to be all that different than whatever’s in the gallery we linked to a few days back, except now they’re presented in one place for your viewing pleasure.
Directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim) and Joel Edgerton (Warrior), The Thing hits theaters on October 14th.
“Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up. When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew’s pilot, Carter (Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish.”
