More Than One ‘Final Girl’ for New Line’s Horror Comedy

Michael London and his Groundswell Prods. have set up horror comedy Final Girls at New Line with A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas 3D helmer Todd Strauss-Schulson directing, reports Variety.

Described as a mix between Back to the Future and Friday the 13th, the story follows a girl grieving the loss of her mother, who was a scream queen in the 1980s. When she and her friends are mysteriously sucked into the world of her mother’s most famous horror movie, Max is reunited with her mom and must face the pic’s crazed killer.

It sounds more like Last Action Hero to me, and the title alone is absolutely hilarious (although, I’m not sure if anyone outside of the horror community will understand).

Scribes Mark Fortin and Josh Miller are currently doing revisions on the spec script they sold to Groundswell.
