If there was any doubt in your mind that Twentieth Century Fox’s Prometheus was an Alien prequel be prepared to rid yourself of that ambivalence.
While the actual Teaser arrives on the 22nd, this Teaser for The Teaser tells you in no uncertain terms that the film is set in the Alien universe. Even if the Xenomorphs in the film don’t appear in the incarnation they did before, everything else points towards canon. The music, the imagery, the vibe and the still unseen Giger designs leave no more room for misinterpretation at this point.
Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Guy Pearce, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Benedict Wong, Emun Elliott, Ben Foster, and Patrick Wilson all star in the film slated for release on June 8, 2012.
“Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.”
