‘Black Sheep’ Taking Over New Zealand Soon

Horror films, especially over-the-top and campy offerings, are a definite trend at this year’s American Film Market, and one project generating huge buzz is the New Zealand film “Black Sheep,” written and directed by Jonathan King and produced by Philippa Campbell, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Although it has yet to be made and completely financed, sources said that based on a promo reel, there’s intense buyer interest in the yarn, which expands on the simple premise that there are 40 million sheep in New Zealand and only 4 million inhabitants — an accurate statistic. After a genetic experiment goes wrong, New Zealand’s sheep start turning nasty, and it’s the humans who begin bleating.
