Russian director Sergey Bodrov’s adventure pic The Seventh Son for Legendary Pictures and Thunder Road Pictures is set to start shooting soon in Vancouver.
And now it appears that the female villain from Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman: Man Of Steel – Antje Traue – is making a lateral move among the Legendary slate to appear in this film as well.
Per Variety,”With production on ‘Man of Steel’ wrapping up, relative newcomer Antje Traue is staying in business with Legendary Pictures, as the German thesp is joining the cast of ‘The Seventh Son.’”
The film also stars Julianne Moore (Shelter, Hannibal) and Jeff Bridges (R.I.P.D.) – and is targeting a February 15, 2013 release by Warner Bros. Pictures. The ensemble cast includes Ben Barnes, Kit Harington and Alicia Vikander.
“The family fantasy movie portrays the seventh son of a seventh son learning how to exorcise ghosts, contain witches and bind boggarts in the 1700s.”
The Seventh Son is based on Joseph Delaney’s young adult book series, with Matt Greenberg penning the movie script. It was originally entitled “The Spook’s Apprentice” but they probably thought better of it after looking at the grosses for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and The Vampire’s Assistant.
