Update: Ivana’s manager contacted us to let us know that she unfortunately did not land the role. We’re a little bummed and hope to see her in something soon!

Ivana Baquero (pictured below) is all grown up and looking to take on a more seductive role in a forthcoming horror franchise.

We’ve received some inside Intel, which should strictly be considered rumor until we’re able to strongly confirm our source we have 100% confirmed, that the star of Pan’s Labyrinth and The New Daughter is the frontrunner to star as sexy bad girl “Chris” in Screen Gems and MGM’s Carrie remake.

If cast, the 18-year-old Spaniard would star alongside Chloe Moretz, Julianne Moore, Alex Russell and Ansel Elgort in the reboot directed by Kimberly Peirce for release on March 15, 2013. Moretz stars as the title character.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa penned the adaptation of the Stephen King thriller about the hyperkinetic teenager who gets pushed too far at the prom and wreaks havoc on her fellow high school students. King’s bestselling book was turned into the 1976 film that starred Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, Amy Irving and Piper Laurie as the repressive mother.

This teenager also enjoys talking on the hyperphone and watching hypervision.

i was think Ivana would have made a good Sue Snell.

and Mr. D why do you say this is a reboot? isn’t it just a remake?

She looks a lot like Amy Irving in this pic, therefor, I can’t help but think she’d be a better Sue Snell :-/

Yet another re-make flop. When are they going to learn to make something original like Cabin in the Woods, now that was a great horror film. Is this girl willing to shed her clothing and play out the famous period scene? I highly doubt it in this day and age. They’ll water it down and slap a PG rating on it and destroy a truly great film like they always do.
