Artisan News recently caught up with Rob Zombie on his recent tour with Megadeth and they wond up chatting with him about his forthcoming The Lords of Salem. In the interview he talks about foregoing handheld camerawork in favor of increasing the film’s visual scope.

Zombie also recently posted on his website, “For those of you wondering if ‘The Lords Of Salem’ is finished, the answer is no. I had to take a break due to the Megadeth tour and a few other things. I will be returning to work on the film in July to finish it up.” Let’s hope he means post-production work and not additional shooting.

The film “is about a local DJ who mistakenly unleashes a hellish curse on the town. 300 years earlier on the very streets of Salem that the townspeople walk on today, innocent folks were rounded up from their homes, convicted of being witches and sentenced to death. The Lords of Salem ran the town with an iron fist, but four witches who were tortured and killed in secrecy vowed that one day they would be back for revenge.

Meg Foster, Ernest Thomas, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Torsten Voges, Bruce Dern, Sheri Moon Zombie, Dee Wallace, Billy Drago, Richard Lynch, Lisa Marie, Maria Conchita Alonso, Ken Foree, Bruce Davidson, Christopher Knight, Michael Berryman and Sid Haig all star.

yeah, i’m confused. it’s finished but he has to come back and finish it up? that being said, i’m looking forward to this movie!

The last time I was pumped for one of his movies was The Devils Rejects. After that I just stopped caring. I honestly think if he was giving someone else’s material he could probably direct the fuck out of it. However him writing it just turns me off anymore to be honest.

My thoughts exactly djblack1313! Why is he finishing a finished product? Very confusing. I bought a rock magazine over 10 years ago on my birthday with Rob doing an interview talking about an upcoming film he wrote and directed called “House of 1000 corpses”. He was having a very hard time filming it because the studio execs thought it was too violent! He said they even thought the finished product was too violent so it had to be shown in select theatres! LOL! I sure as hell hope that does not happen with this new film!
