Remember Those Supposedly Unreleased Layne Staley Songs Coming Out? All Lies.

A week and some change ago, I wrote about a movie entitled Grassroots that featured two “never-before-heard” Layne Staley songs. Hearing new music from the deceased Alice In Chains vocalist was something that really inspired and invigorated many readers. Alas, it looks like the two songs in the film have been out for quite a while. The songs, “Things You Do” and “It’s Coming After”, can be heard below. This is definitely disappointing news for fans and I’m feeling the sting quite a bit.

The film, which is based on a true story, focuses on two music journalists who want to enter the political world regardless of their complete inexperience in the field. It stars Jason Biggs, Joel David Moore, Cobie Smulders, and Lauren Ambrose.
