Neil Gaiman’s ‘Coraline’ Gets Animated

Variety reports that ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ director Henry Selick will helm the film version of Neil Gaiman’s creepy kids’ book Coraline. Originally conceived as a live-action movie, it will now be a spooky animated epic, with Selick both helming and writing the script, based on Gaiman’s tale of a young girl who lives in a big house with an assortment of odd characters. But they’re nothing compared to what she finds when she walks through a strange door that leads her into a nightmarish world mirroring the real one, where distorted alter egos of her parents try to keep her trapped forever.- Fangoria
