Tartan Films has been holding onto a gem that will finally see a limited theatrical release on December 9th. Takashi Shimizu’s Marebito (review) was shot in just eight days, between the production dates for Ju-on: The Grudge and its remake, The Grudge- and is easily the best film he’s ever directed. Marebito follows a fear-obsessed freelance cameraman (Shinya Tsukamoto) investigates an urban legend involving mysterious spirits that haunt the subways of Tokyo.
