Harlin’s ‘The Covenant’ Casts and Preps Shoot
Sony Screen Gems has tapped Renny Harlin to direct The Covenant, an adaptation of the popular comic book. “The Covenant” graphic novel features a story that takes place prior to the events in the upcoming movie and follows a group of four families whose patriarchs wield a vast eldritch power. Screen Gems and Lakeshore have set Renny Harlin to direct supernatural thriller “The Covenant.”
J.S. Cardone’s script follows a mysterious stranger at an exclusive prep school.
Sebastian Stan (Red Doors), Steven Strait (Sky High), Toby Hemingway and Chace Crawford star; production begins in Montreal Oct. 4.
Pic’s produced by Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi and marks the seventh collaboration between the producer-financier and Screen Gems. Other titles include the upcoming “The Cave” and “Underworld: Evolution.”
Cardone’s Sandstorm Films is exec producing. Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper supervises the project.
