Lionsgate Defends ‘The Descent’s’ Trimmed Finale

Personally I could give a crap either way how Lionsgate decides to end Neil Marshall’s The Descent (review #1, #2) when it hits theaters everywhere this August. Why? The movie is so f’n good it doesn’t matter!! They could end the movie with a clown popping on the screen and singing a funny tune, or maybe even have a monkey swing into the cave and make some fart noises… really I just don’t care. Anyways, horror fans who have seen the movie have been in an uproar, especially because the new ending really doesn’t make much sense (or at least to me)- and Fangoria got an official statement from Liongate’s Peter Block who defends the changes. So click the link if you want to know the “whats” and the “whys”. And for the hundredth time, see this f-cker in the theater! The Descent, one of Bloody-Disgusting’s top films of 2006…
