Rogue Pictures has optioned Jeremy Passmore’s thriller spec Summer’s End for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes (Amityville Horror, The Hitcher, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) to produce, according to Variety. The project revolves around a group of teens in a small Oregon town who survive a deadly virus that wipes out the adult population and must fight for their lives when the military attempts to quarantine the area. Passmore’s penning a rewrite of the project as part of the low-six-figure deal. Platinum Dunes’ Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce; the company’s Matt Smith is co-producing. In shocking addition, Passmore is rewriting The Prince with writing partner Andre Fabrizio for John Carpenter (!) to direct.
