Lars von Trier’s ‘Antichrist’ Firms Up the Cash

If you’re excited for Lars von Trier’s upcoming English-language horror pic, Antichrist, you’ll be happy to know that he has finally secured financing for the film and is expected to start shooting shortly in Cologne, Germany. The pic’s budget is around $11 million, with the Danish Film Institute putting in $1.5 million and Filmstiftung Nordhrein-Westfalen in Germany contributing $1.3 million. Written by von Trier and Anders Thomas Jensen, the film is about a couple who move to an isolated cabin after the death of their son, only to find sinister forces at play. Casting is said to follow shortly.
