Haunted Hospital ‘Psych: 9’ Gets February UK Release
Beyond the break you’ll find the first teaser one sheet and very early cut of the teaser trailer for Psych: 9, the new horror-thriller starring Sara Foster (The Big Bounce), Cary Elwes (Saw), Michael Biehn (Aliens, Grindhouse) and Gabriel Mann (The Bourne Supremacy). In the film a young woman with a troubled past takes a job at a recently closed hospital to collate patient records. Working alone in the building after dark, she experiences a series of unsettling events that lead her to believe the hospital may be connected to a number of recent murders in the area. To uncover the truth, she has to solve the mystery of her own disturbing past. Psych: 9 opens theatrically in the UK Feb 5, 2010, with a small US theatrical release expected for later in 2010. Universal Pictures UK has acquired UK home entertainment rights to the film through its indi VISION label. Check out a bloody still, the new poster and trailer below.
Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) is staying busy here in 2024, directing not only the werewolf movie Big Bad but also an upcoming thriller titled Drop.
The project for Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes is being described as a “fast-paced thriller,” and Deadline reports today that Violett Beane (Truth or Dare) has joined the cast.
Newcomer Jacob Robinson has also signed on to star in the mysterious thriller. Previously announced, Meghann Fahy (“White Lotus”) will be leading the cast.
Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”
Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.
Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.
THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
