While digging for info on Alien, it appears that LA Times stumbled onto some casting news for the long, long, long gestured The Last Voyage of the Demeter, a Dracula tale that’s been in development since around the time of Underworld Evolution (2005). The good news is that the film is finally casting, which also means filming in quite possibly set to get underway soon. The site reports that The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo‘s Noomi Rapace (also in talks for Alien) will be starring alongside Ben Kingsley in the tale of an ill-fated journey of Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to England. Rapace is expected to play a stowaway on the boat, which according to legend arrived at its port with no survivors, prompting speculation that the vampire corpse made a little mayhem. Being directed by Oscar-winner Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters), the movie is expected to contain some of the literary genre qualities that characterized Shutter.
