‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Looks Like All Kinds Of Cheesy Awesome!

Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, which comes from Dead Snow director Tommy Wirkola.

Starring Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton and Famke Janssen, the footage looks crazy cheesy, but also crazy fun. We can only hope that this makes right what happened with the lame Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I totally dig these original retellings and want more.

In theaters January 11, 2013, “15 years after their traumatic gingerbread-house incident, siblings Hansel and Gretel have become a formidable team of bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world.

Looks like Van Helsing, Jonah Hex, and/or League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. In other words it looks stupid.

Thinking the same thing. Looks fucking stupid and probably will be :/

I am not one who ever finds this type of film appealing (ie. Van Helsig, Abraham Lincoln: VH, Underworld flicks), however this looks like SO much fun. My friends tend to be drawn to this type of mega-popcorn crap. For once, though I won’t be taken along against my will.

Looks badass. It kinda reminds me of Van Helsing, but still, it looks pretty badass.

I have to echo the poster who said it has a similar vibe to Van Helsing. Seems a little too hokey and overblown.

Pretty badass. How can you not see this trailer and think it’s stoopid. I love these fairy tale/action movie hybrids. Can’t wait for this one!

I think it looks more like The Brothers Grimm, which I loved, than Van Helsing. Maybe even a little Army of Darknessish? Either way, it seems to have it’s tongue firmly in it’s cheek, so I’m in.
