A project we first reported on a few months back is gaining some traction. A Good Marriage, which originally appeared in the Stephen King anthology “Full Dark, No Stars”, will be making its way to screens sometime next year with Peter Askin (Trumbo) directing. And now the film has its lead – Joan Allen (Pleasantville, Manhunter, The Bourne Supremacy) will be playing Darcy Anderson.

In the book, “When her husband of more than twenty years is away on one of his business trips, Darcy Anderson looks for batteries in the garage. Her toe knocks up against a box under a worktable, and she discovers the stranger inside her husband. It’s a horrifying discovery, rendered with bristling intensity, and it definitively ends a good marriage.

Stephen King himself wrote the screenplay for the independently financed film. A Good Marriage begins shooting in New York in mid-October.

AWESOME! i love Joan Allen! she’s a class act and a great actress. i love her in the BOURNE movies as Pam Landy (it’s insulting what they wrote her character into in the god awful BOURNE LEGACY). i’ll definitely be seeing this new movie!

I love her! And the premise is interesting.

I’m literally getting ready to read this story in King’s Full Dark, No Stars book (which is great by the way), looking forward to seeing Joan Allen in a new flick, she’s great (“Okay cocksucker,. Fuck with me and we’ll see who shits on the sidewalk!”);)

Love Steve. But this is his worse book to date. Don’t read this story. Read Jack Ketchum. This is his type of horror . And he has a story that truly does this story thread justice and 10 times more disturbing. If interested, reply and I’ll dig the book out and reply. Once again love Steve but even he knows this is an attempt at J.K.

Never been a huge fan of King but we have seen some great things come from him. I too prefer Jack Ketchum. For some reason I really like Joan allen as well but besides the bourne flicks I can’t even remember what she has done. Really intrigued by this flick though.
