Ivan Reitman Prepping ‘Ghostbusters’ For Summer Shoot?

Hiding within an article over at Deadline, they report that Kevin Costner and Ivan Reitman’s football feature Draft Day is being put in turnaround by Paramount as Ivan Reitman will begin shooting the new Ghostbusters next summer.

Next summer is a long ways away, and there are quite a few questions that need answering before it goes into production (something I won’t believe until I receive a shooting announcement from Columbia Pictures). First, is it going to be a sequel or is it going to be a reboot? Is Bill Murray officially out? Or will he be included by some sort of other means (digital, animated etc…)? And, will the plot follow Peter and Dana’s lovechild, Oscar, who is rumored to lead the modern Ghost Buster team?

There’s a lot to find out before next summer as Etan Cohen rewrites Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky’s screenplay.

Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver are all rumored to be returning at some capacity. Personally, I just want to see Moranis return to acting. He is missed greatly here at Bloody.

They better not fuck this up.

If this film MUST happen,Akroyd and Ramis need to lose some serious weight and hit a gym. They look huge.Without Bill murray, this film just wont feel right in the end.I’ll check it out regardless but there is no way this film can conquer without murray’s involvement.Real talk.

Oscar isn’t Peter’s kid, Dana had Oscar with her {ex}-husband after she ditched Peter. Nitpick, but none the less.

IF this ever gets made I really hope they do away with the whole “Oscar” plot. That is too easy, come up with something more original.
