[TV Bites] Next On “American Horror Story” Episode 3, Behind The Scenes Of “AHS” And “Mockingbird Lane”

American Horror Story: Asylum,” aired its second episode of the season, “Tricks And Treats”, tonight. In the episode, ““The staff summon an exorcist to deal with a possessed farm boy, while Sister Jude’s dark past is revealed.” The new season is set at an East Coast asylum for the criminally insane in 1964 and revolves around Jessica Lange’s new character — a nun — and her boss at the institution, played by James Cromwell. Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Clea Duvall, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, and Adam Levine round out the cast.

If you’ve already watched the first episode and are primed for the second, I think it’s safe to watch the brief behind the scenes clip – entitled “The Opening” – that we’ve included below the jump. And if you’ve already seen the second episode, it’s safe to watch the promo for Episode 3 – “Nor’easter” (airing October 31st at 10:00 pm e/p): “A violent storm hits Briarcliff, allowing a group of patients to plan a daring escape. Sister Jude (Jessica Lange) is haunted by her past.” Written by Jennifer Salt; directed by Michael Uppendahl.

We’ve also got a glimpse behind the curtain of the pilot turned Halloween special Mockingbird Lane. Earlier today we shared 5 clips from the show, but if you’re not yet satiated – this behind the scenes clip is for you. I’m actually kind of curious to see this one!! This new, reimagined version of the classic 1960’s comedy “The Munsters” is based on executive producer Bryan Fuller’s (“Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) script and was directed by executive producer Bryan Singer (“X-Men” film series, “House”).

“Mockingbird Lane” airs Friday, October 26 on NBC. Head inside for the clips!

I’m really liking this season, I think there’s great atmosphere, BUT did it really have to jump on the exorcism bandwagon last night, it felt kinda out of place. That said I felt a small Prison Break vibe in her (come back, Prison Break!!!). We’ll see I guess.

I’m kinda scratching my head at the UFO abduction angle and now an exorcism in Ep 2. Alot of jumping around so far, no coherent direction, but I’m enjoying the show.

Creepy stuff as usual, but last night’s episode just felt so “meh.” Sorry, but with exception James Cromwell and Jessica Lange (Sister Jude might be my favorite character from any TV series right now), non of the other characters really do anything for me. Plus, the Lana/Grace/Kit drama is so uninteresting.

Hoping next week’s episode will be better, and it’s premiering on Halloween, so I’m setting the bar high! lol.
