DC Advertising ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ GN On National TV

It is a constant struggle in the comics industry to reach out to new readers. Part of the problem is that all the advertisements for comics end up in the comics themselves, thus preaching to the already devout choir. Well, DC is stepping up once again, delivering TV commercials for their adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

The graphic novel lands next week on Wednesday, November 7th in comic shops and bookstores.

Ads for the comic book adaptation will run on channels including Bravo, Lifetime, SyFy, TBS, TNT and TruTV.

    I think its a really good idea, if only for the fact that ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ has done so well in the mainstream market (novels and films) considering all the accolades it’s garnered (including a freakin’ Academy Award). So, it would actually succeed in reaching out to that same audience. I don’t think it would work for any old graphic novel.
