Yesterday we shared the first footage from Paramount Pictures’ World War Z trailer, which premieres this Thursday on iTunes. Next up, the official website has launched, and it features the film’s logo.

Directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), the adaptation of Max Brooks’ “World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War” stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse.

In theaters June 21, 2013, “The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself. Enos plays Gerry’s wife Karen Lane; Kertesz is his comrade in arms, Segen.

after seeing the footage (granted it’s only like what 20 seconds or so! LOL) i was blown away by it!! i wrote this movie off because they from the looks of it COMPLETELY changed it from the book (and the PG-13 rating they were going for) but this footage shut me up! lol.

even people not into this movie or happy with the severe changes from the book have to admit they managed to do something different with the zombies/infected themselves. they seem to swarm/horde like insects and i think it looks F’ing bizarre (in a great way), intense and a bit scary!

the zombie genre (which i love) is so played out and no one (making these types of movies/shows) has really been able to breath new life (no pun intended! LOL) or do something original with zombies/infected. Danny Boyle and the 28 DAYS/WEEKS LATER movies (i know technically not traditional zombies but it’s a subgenre of zombies IMO) are awesome as well as Zach Snyder’s DAWN remake. i also like THE WALKING DEAD.

Yeah the whole swarm idea is cool, but this is not WWZ. This is some other zombie movie that needs a different title. Almost the entire book had storylines revolving around the idea that the zombies were slow moving walkers. If it was a different title this could work, but as WWZ this is a mess so far.

Chrinos, i agree. this most definitely should not be called WWZ.

This movie will be so disappointing on so many levels. That being said, I know I’ll see it. It just won’t be in a theater.
