The Doors To ‘Jurassic Park’ Reopen In 3-D

Steven Spielberg’s epic Jurassic Park gets the 3-D treatment April 5, 2013.

While the post-converted garbage is just a way to pull in some extra cash, it could also tell the studio we want more dino action.

Sam Neill and Laura Dern star in the 1993 adaptation that begins during a preview tour of a new theme park, which suffers a major power breakdown that allows its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok.

Thus far the film has grossed $914,691,118 worldwide, could the re-release push it over a billion? Who cares…I just want more movies, toys and JP t-shirts.

really? Is this necessary? First we had the post converted films in 3-d (and they were all dreadful), now old films post converted in 3d? Scrap that, I am staying with the old school 2d.

I’m okay with this. I probably won’t go to a theater to see it (just feels pointless), but it doesn’t piss me off. As long as they don’t re-release the incredibly shitty Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 (which is actually not that bad, minus the lame ending of course), then I won’t have any problems.

But fuck the theaters, I would rather go to the Jurassic Park water ride at Universal Studios’ Islands Of Adventure. Not sure if it’s still open or not (I know they closed the Jaws ride recently), but if it’s still operational, I would drive up to Orlando in a heartbeat. Childhood memories are the best! lol.

It saddens me that most people on the web despise Lost World. I love it. Maybe it came out at the right time in my life, being around 12 or 13 years old. Also helps that I’m a big Jeff Goldblum fan 🙂 JP3, however, I can’t stand.

If a 3d re-release of this movie brings Jurassic Park back into the spotlight, then bring it on! Too bad I hate 3d and won’t be seeing it in theaters

Agreed! I love the Lost World!! I remember seeing it in theaters when I was 10. I just hope that this 3D version of Jurassic Park shows the studio that people are still interested in Jurassic Park movies and that it gets the ball rolling for the fourth movie, especially since part 3 was such a stinker.

Kainrich, funny thing is, I actually enjoyed Lost World……as a kid. I dunno. As I grew older, I just started to despise it after while. IMO, Spielberg just got a little bit to Michael Bayish with the second film (i.e. the T-Rex’s rampage through the streets of San Diego at the end).

I actually enjoyed 3 for the most part. The Spinosaurus was so bad-ass, but as I said before, the lame stand-off ending with the raptors really irritates me.

Yes! I can’t wait! Finally get to see this on the big screen. I saw the sequel in theaters, but not the original.
