So they’ve dressed guest star Ian McShane (Deadwood, Sexy Beast) as Santa. Makes sense. I guess that’s about as seasonal as American Horror Story: Asylum is gonna get. And, if you’re interested, you can now get a glimpse of him in the teaser for Episode 2.08 “Unholy Night”, which will air on December 5th.

In the episode, “A murderous Santa wreaks havoc on Briarcliff. Sister Jude faces off with the Devil.. Meanwhile Arden has a shocking encounter in the Death Chute.” Written by James Wong; directed by Michael Lehmann.

It gets to a point where it’s just so over the top and the events are so outrageously evil that it’s hard to care. I love AHS, but I feel like they missed the mark in a lot of ways. There is so much to like in this season, but I’m scared it’s not enough. Pumped to see them do Christmas. Love the Silent Night, Deadly Night nod.

i loved season 1 a lot and have liked season 2 but i didn’t love it but tonight’s ep was fucking brilliant in every way IMO. i did not want this ep to stop!! lol.

this ep was 100% perfection IMO.

Frances Conroy is such a sight for sore eyes. i am so happy she’s back on the show and seeing her in scenes w/ Jessica (and w/ all the characters of course!) again…..(sorry to keep using this word but it’s fitting) PERFECTION!!

and if there is any goodness in the world LANA MUST LIVE!!! let her live. she’s been through so much horror and even though she had the chance to end her pain, she turned it down at the moment so she could stop Bloody Face and to save Kit’s life. she’s earned the right to come out of this.

I agree 100% ! The only thing I would add is, along with Lana, Sister Jude needs to make it through! When it showed her (false) death scene I was devastated. She is such a brilliant character and I’m totally routing for her. Also, the alcoholism is right up there with the homosexuality in that having gone through it and getting passed it I can relate to her feelings and actions.

Aaron, once again(!!) we agree 10000%. :)
i’d love it if Jude survives! and yeah, being gay myself seeing what Lana (and in real life what many gay/lesbians went through during that time period) went through was terrifying. i too have some experience with addiction issues (past thankfully) and i’m glad we both (like Lana and Jude hopefully!) made it through it! :)

I think that’s what makes it so terrifying, the biggest horrors in this show are the ones that stem from real life. The emotional breakdown Sister Jude is going through is terrifying on its own, add in the surrounding mental torture and is scary stuff! When Lana woke up back in Briarcliff my heart sank, what an emotional moment that was. I understand the show is fictional, but the facts it’s based from make me so grateful to live in the world I do today. Funny the things some of us have in common huh? :)

Yes, let Lana live! When she got in that man’s car, I thought ‘You have got to be kidding me’…God bless her- no wonder she’s a lesbian!’ And I was not expecting to see Frances Conroy again, either- I loved seeing her in the reaper type role.

I think each episode gets better every week.
