Hear Silent Hill Composer Akira Yamaoka’s Eternal Slumber Remix Of Dir En Grey’s “Rinkaku”

Tomorrow sees the release of “Rinkaku”, the new single from Japanese prog extreme metal band Dir En Grey. While we already posted about the new song and the really disturbing video, what we haven’t yet written about is the “Eternal Slumber Remix” done by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. Below you can hear his version of the song, which bears all the earmarks of what you could possibly want from Yamaoka. It’s eerie, atmospheric, haunting, and emotionally charged, taking the original and gives it a completely new sound. In short, it’s fantastic and gives me new appreciation for Yamaoka and his skills.

If you’re willing to pay a tad extra for shipping fees, you can pre-order the deluxe edition here.

The song is haunting! Will it be available on amazon for download? I wonder whose art work that is.
