‘The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes’ Gets New Release Date

With the Amityville-inspired The Conjuring opening in theaters next July, Dimension Films is hoping to use the film’s potential success to hype their long-gestured The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes, the “official” Amityville sequel that once had Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands attached to direct.

Dimension has announced today that they hope to have it completed in time for a January 3, 2014 release.

The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes showcases the events after the time of the original “The Amityville Horror” book and movie through found footage dating back to 1976. “An ambitious female television news intern, on the verge of breaking the most famous haunted house case in the world, leads a team of journalists, clergymen and paranormal researchers into an investigation of the bizarre events that will come to be known as The Amityville Horror … only to unwittingly open a door to the unreal that she may never be able to close.

  • This wont happen. Dimension are forever announcing release dates of movies that always change and in many cases (Halloween 3) the movie never even gets made !
