Leatherface Stalks A Carnival In New ‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Pics!

Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D picks up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. Now we’ve got two looks, via EW, at Leatherface. One in silhouette, and another stalking up upon a carnival.

In theaters January 4, 2013, the slasher is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star. It’s been rated “R” by the MPAA for “strong, grisly violence and language throughout.

“Texas Chainsaw 3D picks up decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre seen in Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. In it, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars.

I’m lookin forward to this shit even though Tobe Hooper is barely involved. Having Trey songz weak ass in here wasn’t helpin either, but the trailer looks cool and I’ll see it regardless.

I really hope they pull this scene off. I think it’ll be something somewhat fresh and give the movie a more realistic look… instead of the usual stranded in the middle of nowhere scenario…

I can’t wait to see this Friday! My theater is only showing in 2D (possibly a good thing). I’ll probably have to run and hide after saying this but I actually had fun with NEXT GENERATION and there’s absolutely no way this will be worse. I should also note I liked the remake and THE BEGINNING quite a bit as well.

The idea of Leatherface loose at a carnival is cool, but similar scenes from past slasher movies featuring the villain going crazy on a large crowd usually comes across as over the top and cartoony…Case in point: The pool scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and the cornfield rave scene in Freddy Vs. Jason (and yes, I am aware that every scene in both movies were pretty much awful, so yea) :-/

This is the scene I’ve been most excited for since the trailer came out. It’ll be an actual fucking massacre this time! So excited!

ThunderDragoon, same here. this carnival scene is what i’m most excited to see. according to people who have read the script (on IMDB) there’s a pretty good, decent length chase scene in the movie as well!
