Magnolia released V/H/S (write your reviews) on DVD and Blu-ray last month in the US (along with iTunes and VOD etc…). But, since it was scheduled to come out later across the pond anyway, Momentum Films is releasing it in UK theaters on January 18th with the DVD/Blu-ray release hitting on January 28th. BUT – you can catch it two days early on January 16th and snag yourself a copy of a super limited edition VHS tape version of the movie!
Per the Total Film VHS Hub (whose link you should click to get in on this), “Come join us on Wednesday 16th January at 6.30 at the one night only that ‘Cellar Rentals’ will exist at the Blackhall Studios in London for a pre-drink followed by an exclusive screening of the film at 7pm complete with popcorn… Should you survive this portion you’ll then be able to join us in our loving tribute to the days of VHS as we’re building an old-skool rental store for one night only… Look through the covers, enjoy complimentary drinks and other fun items in this rare chance to go back to the heady days of choosing tapes… The best bit of all – you’ll get to leave with a rental big box VHS tape of ‘V/H/S’! Only 300 exist and they’re numbered and this will be the ONLY SURE WAY to get hold of one of these rare collectors items.”
V/H/S comes from filmmakers Adam Wingard (You’re Next, A Horrible Way to Die, Pop Skull), Simon Barrett (You’re Next, Dead Birds, Red Sands), Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Roost, The Innkeepers), David Bruckner (The Signal), Joe Swanberg (Silver Bullets), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell the Dead), and Radio Silence.
