New ‘Pacific Rim’ Trailer Boasts Additional Robot Action (If Not Much Else)!

PacificRim

Warner Bros. cut together a new trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim for Qualcomm’s CES event. This time around you see a little bit more of the monsters and quite a the bit more of the Jaeger robots. I’m sure we’ll be getting another trailer in the coming months that shows a lot more, but for now I’m cool with this revised take on the older one.

In the film, “When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12, 2013. Head inside to check it out!!

I sure hope there are other monsters showcased and not just the giant hammerhead shark thing we keep seeing…but in any case, I’ll definitely be there opening night!

I like that Del Toro’s film have more spectacle that they can pact in the trailer! Also, the best bits of his films are not in the trailers at all! 2013 has already an array of great movies: rec 4, thor: the dark world, evil dead, pacific rim, django unchained (for us here in UK) : yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

lol the monster reminds me of something I’ve seen in either Dexter’s Laboratory or The Powerpuff Girls (the old cartoon shows). I like the fact they’re not revealing much or giving a lot a way, but if I hadnt already been hyped up for this movie, just seeing the trailer alone wouldn’t exactly sell me.
